Meet (and pledge!) Marie-Noel Larochelle, Lexi Carrier and Rosalie Cauthers, paramedics with Cornwall SDG Paramedic Services.

Marie-Noel: I’ve been a paramedic for 24 years. I love working for our Community Paramedic Program. We visit people at home, managing chronic disease, illnesses, or age-related needs. We prevent trips to the Emergency Department and bridge the gap before admission to long term care. Our program makes a huge difference in our community and I’m so proud to be part of it.

 

Lexi:

I’m an advanced care paramedic and I’ve been working for almost seven years now. We’re first responders who can provide a higher level of pain management, intubation, and advanced airway support when required. We see a lot of heart conditions, cardiac arrest, trauma, seizures – the worst days of people’s lives, every day. We cling to the idea that we left a scene or patient in a better place than where they started.

 

Rosalie:

I’ve been a primary care paramedic for 2.5 years, working on the 911 side with Lexi. For us, no day is the same. Some days might be quiet, and others we just don’t stop. I love the human connection of what we do, trying to create rapport, alleviating fear, making it safe to cry in the moments we share. There’s mutual respect between our teams and those we work with at CCH. Together, we just want to help make things better.

 

Marie-Noel:

On the community side, we work with CCH a lot, from discharge planners to the geriatric day clinic, the diabetes clinic and more. It’s amazing how much people at CCH care. As partners we work hard to improve life for local patients.

 

Lexi:

Sometimes we start our calls at CCH, but no matter what, we always end our calls there. We’re like members of the same platoon, an extended team. CCH is a good hospital. I take pride in where I take my patients. We spend so much effort keeping people alive, we want to make sure they’re in good hands.

 

What project are we dancing for?

We’re dancing for $100,000 toward two new cardiac monitors for the Emergency Department.
