Meet (and pledge!) Morgan Gagne and Samantha Dubois, MRI Technologists.

Samantha: I’m from Sault Ste. Marie, Morgan’s from Sudbury, and we met at Cambrian College’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist program. The course is accelerated into one year, so you need a base of education before you go. I was already a Medical Radiation Technologist, and Morgan took her Biomedical degree at Laurentian University
Morgan: We became very close friends, with the same dedication to studying. The program’s tough, but it was worth every effort. MRI covers almost every part of the body, so our anatomical knowledge is extensive. What attracted us to Cornwall was its smaller-town vibe, similar to where we’re from, with advanced diagnostic imaging usually found in larger places. We’ve worked hard the past year to bring down the waiting list; we’re continuing our efforts and are proud of the impact we’re making together.
Samantha – We love being part of a community hospital and we’ve been so happy to join our department. Everyone helps each other in Diagnostic Imaging, and our Radiologists have been so good to us. We’re all working to our best ability for the same goal — helping our patients in their journey to wellness. I’m so glad we came here. This is somewhere I’d like to stay and have a family.
Morgan: CCH has the only MRI in our Champlain region outside of Ottawa and Hawkesbury, so we serve a large population of patients. We do extensive screening ahead of time because we don’t want to send anyone home. We love to make our patients laugh or support them if they need to cry. We enjoy the time we spend with people, want them to feel comfortable, and make sure they receive exceptional care.
What project are we dancing for?
We’re dancing for a new mammography injector to help our department grow local services, keeping patients with dense breasts from travelling to Ottawa for biopsies. We’re also supporting new surgical equipment to make a difference in women’s health.
Why pledge our team?
We’re passionate about our patients, this community, and our hospital. We love to dance – we might not be great at it, but we saw last year’s show and knew we needed to try it.
